Steelers GM Kevin Colbert: Time Will Tell With Any Draft
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)-Pittsburgh Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert joined "The Cook and Poni Show" on Monday to recap their draft over the weekend.
"We feel pretty good about the candidates we drafted," Colbert said. "Now, we just have to see who is who and how much they contribute."
Coach Mike Tomlin indicated that the top 3 picks (corner back Artie Burns, safety Sean Davis and nose tackle Javon Hargrave) could all be potential starters on the Steelers' defense this year.
"When they are ready to play, they will determine that," Colbert said. "They all have the credentials to be starters."
The Steelers also made headlines today with the announcement that quarterback Bruce Gradkowski will re-sign for another year to back up Ben Roethlisberger.
"He is a solid veteran backup that has been there and done that," Colbert said. "He is healthy now and we are glad to have him in the mix."
The Steelers also have a decision to make today as to whether they will pick up the fifth year option on linebacker Jarvis Jones.
"There is no decision yet," Colbert said.
