Steelers Draft Prospect Sio Moore: 'I'm The Best Linebacker' In The Draft
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - The Pittsburgh Steelers continue preparing for the draft, and one prospect they have shown interest in is Connecticut LB Sio Moore.
The All-Big East performer joined Troy Clardy on Sportsradio 93.7 The Fan on Sunday.
Moore showed great versatility with UConn, playing all linebacker spots in the 3-4 and 4-3 schemes for the Huskies. But his position flexibility didn't stop there.
"In the Syracuse game, I actually played a little off-corner for a couple of plays, too," Moore said.
"My coaches have put me in the best position possible throughout this draft process. They made me into a complete linebacker that can play any and everywhere on the field. I know I'm the best linebacker in this class because of that. They've given me ultimate versatility. My teammates trusted me to do my job, and my coaches trusted me to put me out there against wide receivers and tight ends. They believed I was going to win no matter where they put me on the field."
"I really feel like I'm the best linebacker in this class. I feel like I'm one of the only guys who can really do everything on the field, and I have the tape to prove it."
Recently, the Steelers brought Moore in for a visit.
"It was really cool!" Moore said. "I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet coach Tomlin and coach LeBeau. Those guys are great people. They don't make you feel like an outcast. We were talking ball and watching ball, and understanding what they're trying to do with the linebackers. They cause havoc, and you love it when you tell your linebackers to do that."
As for how Moore thinks he would look as a Pittsburgh Steeler? Moore says with a laugh, "I would look like a guy that's going to kill the quarterback."
Moore also shares powerful thoughts on the importance of leaving a positive legacy off the field, and what motivates him when he's on the field.
