Steelers' Colbert: No Update On Polamalu Or Contract Status
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – One of the biggest questions this offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers is – will Troy Polamalu be back?
On Monday, the team issued a statement, but there doesn't appear that any decision has been made.
"At this time, we do not have an update on Troy Polamalu or his contract status. We will continue to communicate with Troy and his representatives regarding his future," Steelers' General Manager Kevin Colbert said.
Former Steelers linebacker James Farrior joined Bob Pompeani Saturday and discussed Troy Polamalu's future.
Farrior said that it would be hard to see Polamalu play for another team if the Steelers release him.
"Everybody knows Troy as a Steeler, and I'm sure if he does go on to play a few more years, then people probably won't remember those last few years. They'll always remember Troy as a Steeler," Farrior said. "It wouldn't look right to me, him being in another uniform."
Last week, Post-Gazette Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette joined "The Cook and Poni Show" to discuss the Polamalu situation.
"That is the elephant in the room," Bouchette said. "I expect him not to be here by some means. The Steelers are hoping he would retire, but I don't know if he is going to."
