Steeler Stabbing Suspect Arrives In Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The third suspect accused of attacking a Steeler on the South Side arrived in Pittsburgh today, after he was found hiding out in Florida earlier this month.
Jerrell Whitlock, 26, and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Precious Gethers, are back in Pittsburgh.
Both were brought by sheriff's deputies to Pittsburgh Police Headquarters Friday after arriving on a commercial jet at Pittsburgh International Airport.
Whitlock is the third and final suspect wanted in the stabbing of Steelers' offensive tackle Mike Adams.
The attack happened on Pittsburgh's South Side on June 1.
Michael Paranay, 25, and Dquay Means, 26, are already in custody. But Whitlock took off to Florida with his girlfriend and their 3-year-old child.
They were found in Gainesville, Fla., at a Knights Inn motel 13 days after Adams was stabbed.
Whitlock faces many charges including criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, criminal attempted carjacking and criminal conspiracy.
Gethers is charged with hindering apprehension and endangering the welfare of a child.
Adams has been released from the hospital and is recovering.
After they were questioned, Whitlock and Gethers were taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
Police say no more arrests are expected in the case.
