State Police: Woman Attacked, Abducted In Uniontown, Taken To Isolated Area & Raped
UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- State police in Fayette County say a man and a woman are in custody after a young woman was attacked and abducted while standing at an ATM and then taken to a secluded area and raped.
U.S. Marshals have taken 32-year-old Isiah Colbert and 31-year-old Bobby Jo Mack, both from Uniontown, into custody in connection with the incident.
"The female was taken into custody a few days ago on a traffic stop. The male was taken into custody just today, [Wednesday] afternoon and will be charged accordingly," said Trooper Stefanie Lucas, of Pennsylvania State Police.
The attack happened over the weekend, in the early morning hours of Saturday. The victim is believed to be in her late-teens.
According to state police, the victim said she was using the ATM at the Frick Tri-County Credit Union on Pittsburgh Street in Uniontown when a man and woman came up to her.
Investigators say the suspects assaulted her, abducted her and drove her around Uniontown and forced her to withdraw money at various ATMs.
She was then driven to an isolated, wooded area on Hopwood-Coolspring Road where police say the suspects then allegedly raped her.
The suspects ran away, leaving the victim injured and lying alone in the woods, state police said. She was eventually able to walk to the nearest home where police were called.
"Ended up in the wooded area, was assaulted further, and then, according to what she was able to relay to us, she was then raped by the male who was in the vehicle with her," Trooper Lucas. "They left the scene, the male and female after this took place, and then she went to a home and asked for help."
The victim was flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in West Virginia to be treated for for severe injuries.
The people who live in the home where the victim went for help didn't want to go on camera, but said she was freezing and had bruises on her face. They say she was left in an old baseball field near the woods.

According to state police, the victim said "she had never seen" the suspects before, and "believes that this was a truly random act of violence."
Both Mack and Colbert face multiple charges and are in the Fayette County Jail. Police say both have a long criminal background.
The investigation continues.
