State Police Investigate Copper Theft At Hidden Valley
JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- State police are searching for suspects after thousands of dollars in copper was stolen from a storage garage at Hidden Valley Resort.
Investigators say the burglary happened between April 22 and May 19 at the resort in Jefferson Township, Somerset County.
According to state police, the suspect or suspects cut eight 150-foot electrical cords off of some mobile snow-making machines.
Investigators say the back window to the storage garage was broken. Also, the suspect or suspects opened the garage doors by pulling large spikes, which were there as a locking mechanism, from the frame of the door.
Officials estimate the value of the copper at $4,000 and the cost to fix the machines at $350.
