EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. (KDKA) - Pennsylvania State Police say two suspects were captured after a chase in Washington County on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the pursuit began around 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of an Olive Garden restaurant in South Strabane Township. Police say they stopped a pickup truck that was displaying a license plate that was issued to a different vehicle. There was an active arrest warrant for the owner of the plate.
The South Strabane police officer who initially stopped the truck said the driver, John Donley, 26, of Washington, stated that he was purchasing the truck from his brother.
When asked his name, police say he identified himself as his brother. Another officer arrived on the scene and Donley sped away.
State police say the resulting pursuit traveled through multiple jurisdictions. At one point, police say Donley used the Exit 27 interchange to drive onto Interstate 70 and traveled westbound along the shoulder of the eastbound lanes. Police say Donley exited at State Route 519, but then attempted to get back onto I-70. At that point, state police say "legal intervention was used to stop him."

The truck sustained significant damage and a state police vehicle came to a stop in an area of high grass off the roadway.
Donley and his passenger, Julie Maynard, 32, of Washington, were taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Donley was later transferred to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Maynard was treated and taken to the Washington County Jail.
Donley is charged with risking a catastrophe, reckless endangerment, fleeing or attempting to elude police and several other violations.
Maynard is charged with hindering apprehension and several counts of criminal conspiracy.
