St. Louis Gets Double Root Canal
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Only in the Stanley Cup Playoffs can a guy undergo an emergency root canal and still be probable for the next game. That's the case with Tampa Bay's Martin St. Louis.
St. Louis had to undergo a double root canal immediately after the game as a result of getting high-sticked by Pens defenseman Zbynek Michalek. Luckily for the Pens, no penalty was called on the play.
On TSN's broadcast, former NHL referee Kerry Frazer said that the refs made a mistake and that a major penalty should have been called on the play.
Moments later, Michalek got away with another high-stick on Lightning forward Steve Downie.
It's amazing that St. Louis is expected to be available for Friday's Game 2.
