Sports Illustrated Previews Remainder Of Steelers Offseason Moves
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - The Steelers made news this week as they began to work their way around the salary cap by placing the Transition Tag on Linebacker Jason Worilds, extending the contracts of Safety Troy Polamalu and Tight End Heath Miller, coming to a new agreement with Safety Will Allen and cutting Linebacker Larry Foote, Tackle Levi Brown and Cornerback Curtis Brown.
Those moves won't be the only ones the Steelers make this offseason though, as they will continue to try to lower their salary cap number while getting younger on the defensive side of the ball.
Sports Illustrated's Don Banks took a look at all of the moves the Steelers made, as well as the ones they'll be forced to consider throughout the rest of the offseason. Banks even goes on as to point out some of the candidates the Steelers could consider signing via free agency to fill some of their voids.
According to Banks, the Steelers are amongst the teams in the AFC under the most pressure this offseason in dealing with the salary cap and fielding a playoff caliber team.
