Some Pirates Fans Frustrated By "Wooing" At PNC Park
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Some Pirates fans say they've had enough with the "wooing" going on at PNC Park.
"I think it's absolutely ridiculous. Stop doing it please. It's annoying and stupid. Please stop doing it. It's not a baseball thing please," Matthew, a Pirates fan, said.
Fans noticed a lot of wooing at Tuesday night's Pirates game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Pirates' manager Clint Hurdle noticed it, too.
"What usually happens when you tell your kids you don't really like something that they do, what do they usually do? They usually do the opposite, so that's what I got for you on the 'woo, woo' thing," Hurdle said.
Twitter has been blowing up about it since the game last night.
"I think it's really cool and helps get energy up in sports stadium," Pirates fan Corey Weir said.
"It doesn't really bother me. It shows people having fun. I'm here to have a good time, enjoy myself and root for the team," Pirates fan Wrenna Wilson said.
"I heard it at games, and I'm not a big fan of it. I enjoy coming to games and cheering for the Pirates. A lot of the stuff I could do without," Pirates fan Chip Coulter said.
The woos were a hot topic on 93-7 The Fan Thursday morning, as callers flooded the lines to let Colin Dunlap, Josh Miller, and Jim Colony know how they felt about the subject.
