Some Local Women Angered By Verdict In Casey Anthony Case

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It was the verdict that shocked the nation, Casey Anthony found not guilty in connection with the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Now, many local people, including mothers and grandmothers, are reacting to the verdict, which came down on Tuesday afternoon.

This morning's Pittsburgh Tribune Review read "Liar, Yes; Killer, No" and the front page of USA Today details "How the case Crumbled."

The drama played out in a Florida courtroom, but the verdict did not play well in this part of western Pennsylvania amongst some

"I think they were wrong, absolutely," said one local woman. "I think she is guilty."

"I don't know what's going on with the jurors," added another local woman. "I'd really like to hear from them. I think she's guilty."

KDKA's Ross Guidotti spoke to local moms, grandmothers and aunts about the trial and many kept coming up with the same numerical point: 30 days.

"That was a little innocent girl and how could you not… she's a monster in my opinion, cause how could you not report your daughter missing for 30 days," a local woman said. "There's no way. How could her parents not have known that their grandchild was missing? My mom and dad call my kids every day."

The verdict brought out so much emotion. Now, Casey Anthony will move on, acquitted of murder, but what will the rest of her life be like? Many local people weighed in on that, too.

One woman said "hell on earth."

"I don't think she's going to have a good one," said one of the women. "She's going to be in a jail, just a jail outside of a jail."
