Snow To Move Out Of Area Tuesday Night
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Winter has officially arrived in the Pittsburgh region as the first significant snowfall of 2012 has hit the area.
For Tuesday, expect a blustery, cold day in the Pittsburgh area with some additional lake-effect snow moving through.
KDKA-TV meteorologist Dennis Bowman said roughly another inch of accumulation is possible locally.
A little more can be expected near Interstate 80 and the ridges, south and east.
The high today will be 22 degrees, but wind chills will make it feel like it is in the single digits all day.
Tonight, the skies go partly cloudy as the snow departs with a low of 13 degrees.
A January thaw is in the works after that.
On Wednesday, a high of 32 degrees is expected under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will climb to 36 degrees on Thursday and into the 40s for Friday.
