Snow Showers Expected To Continue Falling Across Area Today
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Some light snow is falling across the area today which is making driving a little tricky for some local commuters.
Forecasters are calling for mostly cloudy conditions with temperatures in the 30s and snow showers.
"So here's what we're dealing with today, we have the jet stream dip far south of our area," said meteorologist Ashley Dougherty. "So what that does is it traps all this cold air in - so really we're not going to see those 60 degree temperatures that we had a couple days ago – highs only getting into the mid-30s and then we'll see that energy move over the Great Lakes giving us a threat for some snow showers."
As for tonight, forecasters are calling for more snow showers with lows in the mid-20s and west winds around five miles per hour.
"Right now, it looks like possibly a coating - up to an inch in some spots, especially in higher elevations," said Dougherty. "The biggest issue is it's going to make the roads a little wet tonight, so you definitely need to be careful."
For the upcoming week, Dougherty says we should prepare for rainy conditions.
