Snow Makes Travel Tricky In Washington County
WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) -- In Washington County, the snow started falling long before daybreak.
Around the same time, Tim Sabau was passing through on his way from Morgantown, W. Va., to Warren, Ohio.
"A lot of slow traffic, slow moving, slippery roads, a lot of accidents, a lot of people on the side of road," said Sabau.
Early this morning, traffic crawled along Interstate 79 north near South Pointe.
Mary Knapp is from Michigan, and was one of many plowing through the snow-covered roads in an attempt to get home.
"This is just like home," said Knapp. "We're used to it up there, but I would just tell Pittsburghers everywhere to drive safely and God bless you."
At Washington & Jefferson College, students braved the snow and whipping winds to get to class.
"It's not like a bone-chilling cold by any means; it's just annoying," said Annette Meyer, a W&J student.
Still, students tried to look on the bright side.
"It's very cold and hard to get to class sometimes; so, it makes it difficult," added Marissa Dapra, another student. "But at least it's not like last week when it was negative 30 out or something."
At least, until tomorrow.
KDKA's Trina Orlando: "You know it's gonna get colder, right?"
Meyer: "Oh no, why did you tell me that? I don't look at the weather for that reason."
