Sneeze Causes Big Rig Accident, Spilling Corn Syrup, Backing Up Traffic For Miles
WASHINGTON COUNTY (KDKA) – The driver of a tanker truck says sneezing caused his accident, which spilled corn syrup all over a highway, and a traffic backups for miles.
52-year-old Bill Setser of Carrollton, Ohio was driving east along Interstate 70 near the city of Washington when he says he blacked out after sneezing.
State troopers say his big rig, carrying several thousand gallons of corn syrup, went off the roadway, hit an embankment, and slid across the highway.
State Police say several hundred gallons of corn syrup spilled from the truck.
The accident backed up traffic on I-70, and I-79 for miles.
According to a press release troopers say Setser was hurt in the accident, but didn't say how seriously.
