Point Park University police posted to their Facebook page alerting students of the incident.
"We actually heard it from a friend. She was walking back to her apartment last night and a cop came up to her and told her to get off the street because there was a stabbing," Point Park University student Gabe Sunderman said.
"That kind of always makes us a little nervous walking around," student Jonathan Hanks said.
"I think about being a little more aware of my surroundings," student Max Behr said.
There are more than a dozen cameras inside Smithfield News. Police hope one of them may have caught something to help police.
