Silas Redd Transfers To Southern Cal
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Another day, another player decides to leave Penn State.
This time, it was a rather big one.
Running back Silas Redd announced Tuesday that he will transfer from Penn State to Southern California. A junior, Redd will have immediate eligibility at USC.
"I think it is important to say that this situation is not something that I wished for myself, but it has happened, nonetheless," Redd said in a statement. "My family and I have spent many hours in recent days trying to decide what will be best for me as I look to the future -- both personally and professionally."
Redd totaled 1,241 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground last season.
His transfer comes after the NCAA placed severe sanctions on Penn State's football program in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal. Any current PSU players can transfer and be granted immediate eligibility at another university.
