SI Sid Cover Story Author: 'I Just Don't Think It Phases Him'
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – When millions across America pick up their copy of Sports Illustrated this week, the first thing they'll see is Sidney Crosby's grimacing face on the cover.
Crosby is appearing on the front of Sports Illustrated for the fifth time, and the cover story this time around is a profile of the Pens' star that details how he has continued to excel despite multiple injuries.
The story is penned by SI's Michael Rosenberg, who joined The Fan Morning Show on Thursday to offer his perspective on the best player in the world.
Rosenberg explained that he came away from his assignment impressed by Crosby's attitude.
"I'm well aware of how many American hockey fans not only dislike him, but seem to think that he has some sort of grave character flaw," Rosenberg said. "I was kind of curious to see how he dealt with that, and what I found I think is that he's just so much in love with hockey and has been so used to scrutiny for so long, I just don't think it phases him."
