1 Person Shot Downtown; Suspect In Custody

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – One person was wounded and another is in custody after a shooting in Downtown Pittsburgh on Monday night.
The victim was transported to Mercy Hospital after being shot in front of the Subway Restaurant on Liberty Avenue.
The suspect is in police custody being questioned at their headquarters on the North Side.
Police shut down Liberty Avenue in both directions Downtown when they were investigating the incident just before 9 p.m. The scene has since been cleared and the roadway is fully open.
Police think the suspect used a revolver and fired at least two shots. After he fired the shots, he took of down 7th Street.
"The shooter then fled the scene on foot toward the North Side," Pittsburgh Police Sgt. William Vollberg said. "We have a male detained at this time and we are continuing the investigation. We do have the incident on video from multiple locations and we have some good witness information as well."
The victim is in critical but stable condition after the altercation.
