Shooting Incident Leads To Reported Chase Into Wilkinsburg
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating after a possible shooting incident in the city's Lincoln-Lemington section reportedly led to a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in Wilkinsburg.
The shooting incident reportedly happened this afternoon on Chaucer Street just off of Lincoln Avenue.
A neighbor said she heard a number of gunshots and then saw a car speeding off from the scene.
The short police chase ended up in Wilkinsburg where the vehicle crashed on Laketon Road and Graham Boulevard. At least one person was taken into custody after the chase.
The shooting victim was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with wounds that were not life-threatening.
Police had a small portion of Chaucer Street blocked off for several hours just after the incident. They collected evidence and processed the scene.
Police are expected to release additional details.
