Severe Weather Warnings Issued For Much Of Area
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings have been issued for much of the area.
KDKA Chief Meteorologist Jeff Verszyla says the storms are moving fairly slow at 10 to 15 miles per hour. He says one to two inches are possible in less than an hour.
According to the National Weather Service, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the following counties in Pennsylvania:
Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Somerset and Washington.
A Flood Advisory has been issued for:
Allegheny, Beaver, Greene and Washington counties.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the following counties in West Virginia:
Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Monongalia, Ohio and Preston.
There are also reports of damage from around the area.
As far as power outages go, Duquesne Light says about 18,000 customers are without service as of 3 p.m.
