Severe Weather Causing Travel Problems
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- This afternoon's severe weather is causing travel problems across the area.
According to PennDOT, several roads have been closed because of flooding and downed trees and power lines.
Also, the nasty storms are creating issues for the Port Authority's T service.
Here is PennDOT's list of roadways that have been restricted:
Allegheny County--
- Route 2046 (Baldwin Road/Streets Run Road) is closed between Brentwood Road in Baldwin Borough and Route 2045 (Mifflin Road) in the City of Pittsburgh
- Route 4022 (Mt. Nebo Road) is closed between Route 4057 (Roosevelt Road) and Cheryl Drive in Ohio Township
- Route 50 is closed between Prestley Road and I-79 in Bridgeville Borough
- Route 3028 (Presto Sygan Road/Walkers Mill Road/Boyds Run Road) is closed between Thoms Run Road and Hilltop Road in Collier Township
- Route 2064 (Lime Hollow Road) is closed between Frankstown Road and Coal Hollow Road in Penn Hills
Beaver County--
- Route 3023 (Park Road/Tank Farm Road) is closed between Hookstown Grade Road and Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) in Independence Township
- Route 3013 (Todd Road/Independence Road) is closed between Bryson Road in Hopewell Township and Route 3022 (Tank Farm Road) in Independence Township
- Route 151 is closed between Route 3023 (Park Road) and Route 3013 (Independence Road) in Independence Township
- Route 3020 (Service Creek Road) is closed between Parrish Drive and Valley View Drive in Hopewell Township
- Route 1006 (Mercer Road) is closed between Route 65 and Harmony Fisher Avenue in Franklin Township
Lawrence County--
- Route 3015 (Industrial Street) is closed between Eastbrook Road and Industrial Street in Taylor Township
- Route 18 is closed between Reynolds Street and Gardner Avenue in the City of New Castle
- Route 388 is closed between Route 422 in Shenango Township and Old Princeton Road in Slippery Rock Township
Meanwhile, according to the Port Authority, while T service on the Red Line has been restored, Blue Line service remains suspended while crews clear debris.
Riders of buses and the T are advised to expect delays.
As for power outages, as of 6 p.m., Duquesne Light was reporting 2,300 power outages across the area.
