Severe Weather Causes Damage Around Area
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A strong line of storms moved through our region Sunday night, which knocked over trees and power lines.
The winds were at their strongest around 10 p.m. Sunday. The National Weather Service clocking the biggest gust at 55 mph at Pittsburgh International Airport.
As a result, there were several reports of downed trees. One instance happened in Pulaski Township at the Tanglewood Golf Course.
Several trees were down and the course clubhouse also suffered some damage.
Also in Lawrence County, a man was injured after a tree fell on his car in Mahoning Township. The man went to the hospital to be treated for slight injuries.
Coraopolis also had several downed wires, which blocked off some roads for a time.
As of 6 a.m. Duquesne Light was reporting 1,500 customers without power.
