Scattered Showers, Storms Still Possible Through Evening After Another Round Of Rain

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Some scattered showers and storms could remain around the area tonight after another round of rain moved through earlier in the day, prompting some watches and warnings.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued by the National Weather Service earlier in the day has been canceled.

The following counties were affected by the watch:

Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Fayette, Forest, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Washington and Westmoreland

Parts of West Virginia as well as Garrett County, Maryland, were also under the watch.

The only alert that remains for the area is a Flood Advisory for Indiana and Westmoreland counties through 5 a.m. Wednesday

According to KDKA Chief Meteorologist Jeff Verszyla, Wednesday will be begin overcast, but those clouds will give way to sunshine.

"Clouds are going to linger overnight," said Verszyla. "Maybe a little bit of patchy fog. Then, for [Wednesday] clouds will give way to sunshine and will turn less humid and drier through the end of the week."

Because of the threat of severe weather, Kennywood closed early Tuesday at 5 p.m.
