Severe Thunderstorm & Flood Watches Issued For Area
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A series of storms moving into the area has prompted several watches to be issued.
According to the National Weather Service, a severe thunderstorm watch and flood watch are in effect for parts of Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the following counties in in Pennsylvania until 9 p.m.: Adams, Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Cumberland, Fayette, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Huntingdon, Indiana, Lawrence, Somerset, Washington, Westmoreland and York.
A flash flood warning has been issued for Somerset County through 7:15 p.m.
A flood watch is in effect for the following counties in Pennsylvania until midnight:
Allegheny, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland.
A flood watch is in effect for the following counties in West Virginia until midnight:
Brooke, Marshall, Monongalia, Preston and Ohio.
Storms capable of producing high winds and hail are possible and could bring another inch of rain.
