Cleanup Underway After Severe Flooding In Lower Burrell
LOWER BURRELL (KDKA)- People living on Millers Lane in Lower Burrell are still cleaning up Friday morning due to some severe flooding.
"It was whitewater rafting, that's how bad it was, like whitewater rafting," said Jeff Clokey, a longtime resident on Millers Lane.

The nearby creek overflowed around 11:00 p.m. Thursday, sending a river of water down the street and into people's basements and yards.
Elizabeth Jackson's basement flooded and her husband's 1970 Ford Mustang was destroyed.
"It went up past the driver's door, the whole inside of the car is covered in water, the engine was submerged with water. It's done, it's really done, and my husband is sick to his stomach over it, because that's his baby," said Jackson.

For Jeff Clokey, this flooding is an all too familiar sight.
"It's terrible, everything is ruined again, lost everything, my furnace, hot water tank. Every time it rains real bad, every house here gets flooded."
Ron Farkas told us that five or six years ago, the same street flooded. During that flood, Farkas said his basement had four feet of water. This time around he only had a foot of water.

Nonetheless, it was still frustrating.
"The road here was covered with water, it was literally a lake, I ran into cellar only had a log and a tiny bit of water. Within two or three minutes the water started pouring in the cellar. The water was coming down there like you would not believe, the water was just pouring down the road, it seeps into the ground and it starts coming through your walls and you can't stop it," said Farkas.
Fire crews were helping people pump water out of their basements. They had to help a few nearby businesses with water issues too.
