Sens Analyst Gord Wilson: Sens Call Gonchar 'Benjamin Button'
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Ottawa Senators radio color analyst Gord Wilson joined Paul Zeise on Sunday evening to offer a Senators' perspective on the upcoming Penguins vs. Senators Eastern Conference Semifinal series.
Miller said Erik Karlsson is itching to move past his unfortunate run-in with Matt Cooke from earlier this season.
"I think Karlsson summed it up best today by saying we'll probably talk about this for another day or two, and then it's all forgotten," Wilson said. "It's forgotten in his mind, it's probably in [Matt Cooke's] mind as well, and it's time to get down to business."
Miller told Paul that, if Spezza is anything like the other key Sens that have been injured this season, he very well could return from his back injury during this series, even though he practiced with the team for the first time today.
"Stranger things have happened," Wilson said. "Based on what we've seen with some of the other players on this team... anything's possible."
Miller explained that the Sens feel fine as it is.
"They certainly have a ton of confidence in their own group," Wilson said. "But if that group can be added to... it would be an added bonus."
He also noted that Sens defenseman (and former Penguin) Sergei Gonchar has earned the nickname "Benjamin Button" because of his resurgence.
