Second Woman Dies After Indiana Co. Senior Shuttle Crash
INDIANA, Pa. (KDKA/AP) - A second woman has died after a senior citizens' shuttle bus crashed in Indiana County earlier this month.
Indiana County Deputy Coroner Jerry Overman says tests to pinpoint 79-year-old Kathryn Reeger's cause of death will take weeks to complete, but said it appears the Shelocta woman's death on Friday was related to the Sept. 4 crash.
The accident happened just before 10 a.m. at the intersection of Ben Franklin Road and Shelly Drive in White Township.
The Indiana Gazette reports that's when the shuttle crashed on its way to the White Township SeniorCARE facility.
Police say the shuttle's 20-year-old driver ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle, but that man has yet to be charged while state police finish their investigation.
Another of the three passengers, 70-year-old Sondra Livingston, of Homer City, died later that day of head injuries.
