Sea Of Runners Take On Liberty Mile Downtown
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- There was a sea of runners in Downtown Pittsburgh Friday night.
The second annual GNC Live Well Liberty Mile run took place on Liberty Avenue.
The race – exactly one mile – goes straight down Liberty Avenue. It kicked off at 17th Street and wraps up on 6th.
But just because it was a short race doesn't mean it's an easy one.
Some of the runners completed the event in less than four minutes.
About 1,200 people were expected to participate, including a number of professional and record-holding athletes from all over the country.
The race is organized by the same folks that put together the Pittsburgh Marathon.
