School Cop To Stand Trial For Sexual Assault

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) --- A former Pittsburgh schools police officer, accused of sexually assaulting students, appeared in court today and faced his accusers before he was ordered for trial.

43-year-old Robert Lellock was arrested last month accused of using his authority as a Pittsburgh Public Schools police officer, to sexually assault three teenage boys in the late 1990's.

"My client denies the allegations. We'll go through the discovery process and we'll see what happens," says Defense Attorney Timothy Kidd.

The alleged incidents happened at the Arthur J. Rooney Middle School on the North Side.

Three alleged victims testified Friday including a 27-year-old man who was just 12-years-old at the time.

The alleged victim says Lellock sexually assaulted him in a closet many times.

"Seven charges were dismissed. You've got shattered testimony and wasn't able to explore it all," Kidd says. "We'll go through the discovery and see what happens."

Most of the charges against Lellock were waived to trial. The trial is expected to take place either late December or early 2013.

Pittsburgh Public School District recently released a statement saying that they are still cooperating with the District Attorney's office and that they've standardized their reporting of such incidents. They also say they are re-training their staff and committed to protecting students.
