School Bus Found After Being Stolen
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A school bus that was discovered stolen Monday has been recovered.
It was found Monday evening in Butler County on Evans City Road behind Point Plaza.
A bus driver noticed the bus -- number M207 -- was first missing Monday morning, thinking another driver had taken her bus out early.
But by the end of the shift when the bus wasn't returned, officials at the office took a look at surveillance video and realized the bus pulled out of the Lawrenceville lot around 11 p.m. Sunday night.
Police say whoever took the bus knew it had to run long enough to get air in the brakes before taking off, so they had some knowledge of buses.
The bus company also says this is a first – a stolen 72-passenger flat nose bus, which is difficult to drive.
The missing bus didn't stop kids from getting to and from school, but raised questions about who would steal a yellow school bus.
