Beaver Co. School Board Member Charged In Prostitution Sting
CENTER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A school board member in Beaver County has been charged in connection with a prostitution sting.
According to police, Joseph Long, 43, was taken into custody at the My Place Hotel in Monaca on Nov. 16.
During a text message conversation, police say Long agreed to pay $120 for 20 to 30 minutes of sex with a woman.
Long, a Rochester Area School District board member, also agreed to meet the woman at the hotel in room 103.
When he arrived around 4 p.m., he was taken into custody.
"We arrived at My Place hotel and set up surveillance," said Center Township Police Chief Barry Kramer. "The subject, Mr. Long, showed up at the pre-designated place and time and there was arrangements allegedly made via text messaging, or communication through a cell phone, in the agreement of sex for money."
He is facing a list of charges including, criminal solicitation and patronizing prostitutes.
Long was elected in 2015 to a four-year term on the school board. So far, there's been no comment from the Rochester Schools superintendent.
