Route 65 Shut Down Due To Gas Leak
CONWAY (KDKA) -- A gas leak shut down a main road in Beaver County on Monday afternoon.
A construction crew struck the line around 1 p.m. Monday, forcing Route 65 to be shut down in both directions near 11th Street in Conway.
A number of drivers were forced to sit in their vehicles and wait.
"I was hoping to get home today a little bit earlier than I normally do, but the traffic is not cooperating," Bill Barker said.
"It was backed up so bad that we all decided to back up on the highway on 65 coming toward Rochester, so we started to back up off the highway and onto side streets," Kim Vojtko said.
A portion of the road was reopened around 4 p.m.
