1 Woman Killed, Another Woman Injured In Route 51 Crash
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One woman was killed and a second woman was injured in a crash along Route 51 Friday morning that caused significant traffic backups.
Traffic came to a standstill in the area of Nobles Lane and delays were building. Sawmill Run Boulevard has since been reopened.
The crash was first reported around 9:30 a.m.
Officials say a 60-year-old woman was killed. She was rushed to UPMC Mercy Hospital where she died from her injuries.
The Allegheny County Coroner identified her as Wendy Eberle of Pittsburgh.
UPDATE: 11:12 a.m. 11/01/19 All lanes are now open on Sawmill Run Blvd/Route 51 after a fatal collision.

A second woman, in her 30s, was also injured. She was also taken to a local hospital. Police say she suffered serious injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police say there is some indication there may have been a medical emergency.
There were no passengers in either of the vehicles.
