Route 28 Southbound Closed Wednesday Night
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- PennDOT District 11 announced Monday that Route 28 southbound will be closed Wednesday night at the 40th Street Bridge in Millvale.
The closure will take place from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. Crews will be on the scene installing an overhead sign structure between the Millvale interchange (Exit 3) and the former Millvale Industrial Park site.
All southbound traffic will be restricted to a single lane, which will cross the 40th Street Bridge to Butler Street and then on to Penn Avenue to the 16th Street Bridge.
Traffic on the 40th Street Bridge will not have access to southbound Route 28. Northbound Route 28 and Millvale will remain open.
Traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less will occur on northbound Route 28.
Overnight single-lane closures are expected from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Saturday morning once the sign is installed for sign and message board installations.
