Roethlisberger Wins Back-To-Back AFC Offensive Player Of The Week Awards
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Following up his Week 8 performance against the Colts of 522 yards and six touchdowns, which earned him the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award, Ben Roethlisberger's encore performance of 340 yards and six touchdowns earned him the same honor in Week 9.
Roethlisberger's 25-of-37 passing performance with zero interceptions on Sunday night led the Steelers to a dominating 43-23 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
This is the 11th time in his career that Roethlisberger has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week and the first time he has won the award in consecutive weeks.
This is the third time Roethlisberger has won the award multiple times in a season. He achieved this feat in Weeks 5 and 8 of 2011 and Weeks 10 and 16 in 2007.
Roethlisberger joined the "Cook and Poni Show" on Tuesday at 11 a.m. as he does every week for the "Ben Roethlisberger Show" and he talked about his big game against the Ravens and what it means to the team to silence their critics after a slow start to the year.
