Roethlisberger Settles Lawsuit With Nevada Accuser
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Lawyers for Ben Roethlisberger and the woman who accused him of raping her at a Nevada hotel have reached a settlement - ending her lawsuit.
Andrea McNulty, an employee at Harrah's Lake Tahoe, claimed Roethlisberger raped her in his hotel suite there in 2008.
No criminal charges were filed.
McNulty's lawyer says she wanted the case dismissed because the parties had reached a resolution of all claims and counterclaims.
KDKA-TV asked Bob DelGreco, a local defense lawyer, what a possible settlement could include.
"There are many and very possible outcomes. Theoretically, it could be non-monetary – money isn't paid," he said. "It could be commitments to do various things. In all probability, there is some money paid."
"Don't discount the fact that there were nine defendants in this case and that Harrah's is one of them. There may be insurance involved. There may be a confidentiality agreement. It can basically run the gamut as to what these people agreed on."
McNulty also accused several Harrah's employees of covering up the alleged rape. The settlement ends those claims as well.
