Roethlisberger Ready To Go Deep Against Dallas

PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger spent much of his return game out of sync, as he admitted on the South Side Wednesday, and it doesn't get easier in Dallas Sunday, where he'll face Anthony Spencer and DeMarcus Ware, of the best outside linebacker duos in pro football.

Ware ranks among the league's top five in sacks with 11.0 entering Week 15, with Spencer not far behind at 8.5. Led by those two, the Cowboys boast the No. 5 pass defense in the NFC.

Roethlisberger, who completed just over half his attempts for 285 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception against San Diego, is open to the possibility of opening up the passing game even more.

"That's kind of where it starts for them. We consider them D-linemen...I know linebacker is what they're listed as, but they're really D-linemen," he said. "They get after it, so we'll have to put a special emphasis on taking advantage of them, down the field, if we can block those guys."

Could this mean a bigger workload for Mike Wallace, who, much to Ben's chagrin, was booed loudly at Heinz Field days ago? If so, is there any doubt the beleaguered Wallace can handle it?

"None whatsoever. I've got all the confidence in the world in Mike, he's got it in himself, and we've got it in him that he's going to be great," Roethlisberger responded. "There's not a second thought in my mind about it."

Furthermore, Big Ben shared his thoughts on what should be the role of Wallace's fellow wide-out, Plaxico Burress, as his second tour of Steeler duty continues:
