Roethlisberger Named AFC Player Of The Month
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Steelers are on a three-game win streak and Ben Roethlisberger has had a lot to do with it.
On Wednesday, Roethlisberger's efforts were recognized as he was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month.
According to a press release, Big Ben threw for 1,188 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions in four games this month.
However, this is not the first time his offensive abilities have been recognized this season. After a 37-27 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 11, he was named as the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
While he has been named Offensive Player of the Week nine times in his career, this is the first time he's received the month-long award.
Troy Polamalu was also named as the AFC Defensive Player of the Week this week.
Polamalu registered four tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery to help the Steelers defeat the Cleveland Browns 27-11.
This is the seventh time in his career he has received this honor, but it's the first time since Week 17 in 2011.
The Steelers will look to get back to .500 when they go on the road to take on the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving.
