Roethlisberger, Clark Injured In Win Over Chiefs
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers squeaked by the lowly Kansas City Chiefs 16-13 Monday night, but the win might have been costly.
An interception by Lawrence Timmons in overtime set the Steelers up for the game-winning, 23-yard field goal.
At 13:40 of the third quarter, Ben Roethlisberger was sacked by two Kansas City Chiefs and he hobbled off the field with an injured throwing arm.
Roethlisberger missed the rest of the contest and was taken to the hospital for an MRI.
On Tuesday, head coach Mike Tomlin said Roethlisberger had suffered a sprained shoulder. Specifically, the injury is being classified as a sternoclavicular joint injury.
Currently, Roethlisberger is being listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Baltimore.
"He has a shoulder sprain; it can be classified as an SE sprain, that's all the information that I have for you at this time," Tomlin said. "Obviously, this injury puts his participation in the questionable category for this week."
Should Roethlisberger be unable to play, who will line up under center- Byron Leftwitch, who finished up the game last night, or hometown native Charlie Batch?
Whichever one is the signal caller for the Steelers, they'd better be ready to play.
The next three weeks see two games against the division-leading Baltimore Ravens and one against the Cleveland Browns.
Ryan Clark also had to come out of the game after possibly suffering another concussion.
