Rodney Harrison: Ravens Can Slow Down Steelers By Keeping Roethlisberger In The Pocket
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – NBC "Football Night In America" studio analyst Rodney Harrison joined The Fan Morning Show on Friday to help the guys preview Steelers vs. Ravens, which will be NBC's "Sunday Night Football" broadcast this week.
During the interview, Harrison talked about the development of the Steelers' offense after their outstanding performance last week.
"When you're the Steelers, you have to look, you have a lot of young guys, and every time you get to win, and win in that fashion- which doesn't happen very often- you build confidence from it," Harrison said. "And the one thing that really stood out to me is Big Ben, it's not just one guy, it's not [just] Antonio Brown, but he's spreading the ball around, building confidence and that rapport and chemistry with all those other weapons."
Harrison told the guys that the best way to slow down the Steelers' offense is to keep Ben Roethlisberger contained.
"I think the key here is always pressure on the quarterback," Harrison said. "But it's a little different, because Ben is so good at escaping. I think when he's in the pocket, he's a good quarterback, when he gets outside that pocket, he really becomes a great quarterback. I think that's one of the keys to the game. You have to keep him inside that pocket and make him become a pocket passer."
