Man Wanted After 2 People Shot During Alleged Road Rage Incident On Banksville Road
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Pittsburgh Police are searching for the driver of a pickup truck who they say fired shots after an alleged road rage incident in broad daylight.
Police say 52-year-old Kevin McClinton is wanted after the shooting left two people in the hospital. Police say McClintock is believed to be driving a silver GMC pickup truck with PA tag ZNE 9902.
Police were on scene at the intersection of Banksville Avenue and Banksville Road Friday afternoon, and photos showed police and paramedics in the parking lot of the Sunoco near Coast Avenue.
According to police, the call came in for a road rage incident and shooting around noon in the 1200 block of Banksville Road. They say a silver truck tried hitting and running a black car off the road.
"The black car was trying to get away from him and he's just staying on his (butt) trying to cut him off," witness Michelle Beaver said.
She said after the car crashed into the hillside, a man inside the truck started shooting at the victims.
"The aggressor got out of his pickup, jumped on the trunk of victims' car, and I heard three pops come out if it," Beaver said.
It was at this point she ran to get a picture of the truck before the driver took off. She said he was driving outbound on Banksville Road.
Investigators said a man was shot in the face and a woman was possibly grazed by a bullet. She also had back injuries. Both were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
"His face was pretty banged up because of the impact of the vehicles," Beaver said.
According to Beaver, a young child was also in the car but he didn't appear to be injured. She helped to get him cleaned up and comforted him at the scene.
"At this point, it does not appear to be a random act," Pittsburgh Public Safety Spokesperson Chris Togneri said at the scene.
Investigators are piecing it all together and said they aren't sure how they all know each other.
Police say McClintock faces two counts of criminal attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, a person not to possess a firearm, and three counts of recklessly endangering another person.
