Rite Aid Offers Reward For Would-Be Robber
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Rite Aid drug store that was nearly robbed more than a week ago is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
It happened when a man entered the Rite Aid Pharmacy located in the 600-block of E. Ohio Street the morning of Jan. 6 pretending to have a gun in his pocket, demanding money.
However, when the employee behind the counter explained that he couldn't open the register without a sale, the suspect ran away.
Police say the store manager called 911 and followed the man down E. Ohio Street toward Avery Street, but lost track of him.
Now the store is offering up to $1,500 for the would-be robber, if anyone can provide information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
The man is described as black, 6 feet tall and 275 to 300 pounds. At the time of the attempted robbery, he was wearing a gray jacket with "CE" on the chest, black pants, black mask and do-rag.
