Rising Rivers To Close Mon Wharf Wednesday
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The recent storms that moved through the area this week are having an impact on the rivers around Pittsburgh.
According to the National Weather Service, the Ohio River is expected to rise above flood stage around 8 p.m. Tuesday.
In addition, the river is expected to crest at 20.5 feet Wednesday morning. As of 11 a.m., the river was at 17 feet.
As a result, the Public Parking Authority has issued a notification to motorists who park at the Mon Wharf.
They are advising motorists to remove their vehicles from the Mon Wharf by 8 p.m. as a precaution. Also, the Mon Wharf will not be open on Wednesday.
Motorists can find additional parking at the First Avenue Garage and Second Avenue Plaza.
