Retailers ready for customers shopping for Black Friday deals
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at shopping centers around the region as Black Friday Bargain hunters started out early Friday morning.
By the dawns early light, they were out and ready to shop. Doors at the Ross Park Mall opened at 6:00 a.m. and within minutes, there were thousands of people inside looking for that certain holiday gift, at that certain holiday price.
Black Friday used to be the kickoff to the holiday shopping season, but now, with the rise in online shopping, it's more like the mid-way point. But that didn't stop these shoppers at the Tanger Outlets of Pittsburgh from being first through the doors at their favorite store.
"We have been first in line at Nike for like 3 years in a row. We come; we wait. It's just something fun to do with our cousins. We get access to all the styles and stuff before everybody. We're out here just having fun together shopping," said Diana Khalil, who is visiting from New Jersey.
The energy was high and festive at these shopping centers, and it seems that after almost two years of being apart, folks are happy to be back together, in person, and sharing in that holiday spirit.
Shema Krinsky, the Marketing Director of Simon Properties, says that this Black Friday has been highly anticipated.
"People have been waiting for this day. It's a tradition. They come in with their families, they come in with their friend. They finish all their Thanksgiving activities with their families and they're ready to shop."
Now, if you are looking for deals, there are still plenty to be had, but experts say, shop sooner rather than later to get what you want!
