Residents Displaced After Car Crashes Through Fayette Co. Home
NORTH UNION TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - Emergency crews were called out to a home in Fayette County after a car crashed through a house Monday morning.
According to officials at the scene, the accident happened around 9 a.m. in the 100-block of Piper Hollow Road in North Union Township.
Officials said the accident happened after a man swerved to avoid something that had run out in front of him in the road. The man went off the road and crashed through a fence before slamming into the home and coming out the other side.
"It's unbelievable that anybody survived here. Nobody was home at the present time and that's what we're thankful for. The car went through the house and out the other side. There's no injuries and I believe one person was transported to the hospital for evaluation," Dunbar VFD Assistant Chief Richard Watson said.
Watson said the home suffered major structural damage. Currently, the residents are not being allowed back inside.
