Resident Injured In Clairton Home Invasion
CLAIRTON (KDKA) - Police are investigating after one person was injured during a home invasion at an apartment building in Clairton.
According to authorities, the apartment, located in the 2700-block of Lincoln Avenue, was broken into overnight.
Investigators say a resident in his 60s suffered injuries after being pistol-whipped in the incident and several pieces of electronic equipment were taken.
However, the intruder then apparently realized they had broken into the wrong apartment. Officials say an apology was made and the items were returned.
Authorities report that the suspect then reportedly went to the apartment next door, which is the residence he was initially trying to find.
KDKA's Bob Allen has learned that a relative of Lindsey and Keith Wright lived in that apartment and the gunman was allegedly planning to retaliate against them for a murder on New Year's Eve.
The Wrights are wanted in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Tauvea Hurt. Police say Hurt was a fugitive himself, wanted for an earlier shooting of one of the Wrights.
Police are now looking for the Wright brothers, as well as an unidentified gunman who is seeking to retaliate against them.
The suspected home invader escaped in a car parked nearby.
Anyone with information in the case is being asked to call Allegheny County Homicide detectives.
