Reports Detail Costs For Poplawski Trial
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - New details have been released about how much the murder trial of Richard Poplawski actually cost.
Published reports in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review also give a better idea of what the out-of-town jurors did during in their free time.
The reported total cost of the trial was roughly $107,000.
The total includes hotel fees and overtime for sheriff's deputies and court administrators.
In all, $9,300 was spent on food for the jurors.
Jurors were also paid for serving during the case. The total amount paid for all the jurors was $3,900.
While in town, the jurors got a tour of Heinz Field and the Heinz History Center and rode the Mon Incline.
A scheduled event at CONSOL Energy Center prevented them from receiving a tour of the facility.
