Reported Missing Man Is Likely Fugitive On The Run
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The family of a missing man says it has been searching for a week, leaving missing persons flyers in Mckees Rocks and Stowe Township.
However, police say the man's disappearance is suspicious.
Allegheny County Police say 36-year-old Calvin Liddell's disappearance corresponds with his prison sentence and he could actually be a fugitive on the run.
Since the search started, Liddell's pickup truck was found near the Norwood Inn on McCoy Road. Police say the truck had a small amount of blood splattered on the interior.
When KDKA contacted Allegheny Police to see if Liddell was on a missing person's list, it turned out Liddell disappeared on the day he was to be sentenced to prison in federal court.
County Police now say it appears the disappearance was staged and that there's no indication that he was assaulted or is missing.
Authorities now suspect Liddell is on the run from the law.
Phone calls to Liddell's father were not returned.
