Report: Roethlisberger May Ask For Trade

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Does Ben Roethlisberger want out of Pittsburgh?

According to an NFL.com report, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport said Roethlisberger is reportedly "frustrated" and may ask for the team to explore trade options after the season.

Rapoport said offers came in for Roethlisberger last offseason, but more could be on the way.

While there is no specific asking price, Rapoport said the Steelers would only move Roethlisberger if they can replace him with another franchise quarterback.

Roethlisberger's agent, Ryan Tollner, commented on the report on Twitter Sunday afternoon.

Tollner's series of tweets said, "Ian Rapoport's apparent sources seem to be guessing what Ben feels about the Steelers and being traded. This is completely wrong and inaccurate. Ben has always said he wants to play his entire career for the Steelers, and his roots are set firmly in Pittsburgh he has a lot left in the tank & is 100% committed to winning more championships with the Steelers."

Steelers President Art Roomey II also weighed in on the report Sunday afternoon.

In a statement on the Steelers' website, Rooney said, "Contrary to erroneous reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers have not explored trading quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and have no plans to do so."

The Steelers defeated the Buffalo Bills 23-10 Sunday afternoon. After the game, Roethlisberger also addressed the NFL.com report.

"It is one of the most B.S. stories I have ever heard of," Roethlisberger said after the game. "I've always said I want to be a Steeler for life. I love it here. I'm happy here and I don't want to go anywhere.
